WEIR MINERALS INTEGRATES KEY BRANDS IN MUDFLOW™ PUMP
Integrated solutions are what separates gear suppliers from answer suppliers, argues Marnus Koorts, common manager pump products at Weir Minerals Africa – and the recently launched Multiflo® Mudflo™ pump exhibits how this is carried out.
This dredge/excavator-mounted, mud-pumping innovation was launched last year, after being developed in response to a challenge which a customer confronted, says Koorts. It is a heavy responsibility hydraulic submersible slurry pump designed for abrasive applications and large particle dealing with. Its utility is primarily in reprocessing and relocating tailings ponds, sustaining water retention dams and managing slimes and sludge ponds.
“The Multiflo Mudflo pump efficiently combines elements of the Warman MGS submersible slurry pump-end, and a custom Multiflo designed bearing assembly coupled to a hydraulic motor,” he says. “Another key ingredient is the pairing of dual Multiflo CB33 hydraulic cutters with Weir ESCO excavation enamel.”
The cutters mechanically agitate the settled solids, permitting abrasive and extremely charged slurries and mud to be efficiently pumped. He emphasises that the parts making up the Multiflo® Mudflo™ pump are drawn from Weir Minerals confirmed manufacturers, and are carefully combined to produce an integrated resolution that saves customers money and time. It also reduces environmental impact, by avoiding the pricey and energy-intensive process excavating and trucking the fabric off site.
เกจวัดแรงดันอาร์กอน consists of Weir Minerals’ Ultrachrome A05 chrome alloy casting for top wear resistance,” he says. “There can be a suction strainer to prevent excessively large particles clogging the pump.”
This ensures that the unit delivers optimum uptime alongside excessive performance ranges: the Mudflo™ 200 pump is capable of pumping between a hundred and fifty m3/h and 1,200 m3/h, up to a head of 82 metres. The pump can deal with a maximum particle size of eighty mm, and a most liquid temperature of 35°C.
“While our integration of products has grown organically over the years, it has become more systematic and deliberate as our product range has grown and turn out to be extra diverse,” says Koorts. “The way we have developed this resolution shows the progress in current years towards integrating our product lines to add value to our choices.”
He notes that the process of ETO ensures that solutions developed by Weir Minerals’ engineering groups ship more worth than the sum of their element components. In this case, the company’s dewatering experts were able to attract on the most effective expertise from Weir Minerals’ Multiflo®, Warman® and Weir ESCO® brands – combining them with superior hydraulics to create an innovative outcome.
“Our extensive footprint in the area and our close collaboration with clients on a daily basis provides us an in depth understanding of their specific requirements,” he says. “We can subsequently make certain that our improvements are fit for objective, being based on our considerable ETO functionality and technical excellence.”
