Svanehøj launches management system for cargo offloading

เครื่องมือวัดpressure Svanehøj has launched its newly developed environmentally friendly Flow Control system, which automates the control of electrical cargo pumps on tankers.
The launch of the newly developed software-based control system follows a profitable test in collaboration with the Swedish shipping company Furetank on the P&C tanker Fure Ven. The 18,000 DWT vessel was in-built 2019 as considered one of Furetank’s V-Series, a brand new technology of climate-smart P&C tankers.
Svanehøj’s system makes it quicker, simpler, and extra efficient to operate electrical cargo pumps. It ensures an optimal changeover between tanks and pumps in parallel, reducing the time needed for cargo discharge by up to 20% as a end result of the system will mechanically function on the optimum responsibility point. It permits the operator to take full management of the pumps, simplifying the complete cargo discharge operation with out putting in any further hardware.
Fure Ven is among the many first vessels at Furetank to have electrical cargo pumps installed. The firm has recorded a 25% discount in power and gasoline consumption in relation to cargo discharge operations compared to vessels within the fleet which have hydraulic pumps.
