Forgotten between rival teenage gangs in north Pattaya has left one person injured after the gangs used rocks, knives, and selfmade grenades as weapons. The violent incident happened at 5am on Saturday, April 22 on the Photisan Fresh Market, the place a 17 year old worker of the Jay Nooch fruit shop suffered a blow to the top from a thrown rock in the course of the brawl.
Warunee Nangngam, a 29 yr old shopkeeper at the market in Pattaya, revealed that the teenager and different boys who work together with her had a conflict with a bunch of youngsters during Songkran, the Thai New Year competition. Warunee recalled that on the evening before the incident, the rival gang appeared to have made peace with the Jay Nooch employees. The relieved shopkeeper thought the conflict had been resolved, however sadly, she was mistaken.
The next morning, as the market opened, the rival gang returned to the scene. Other vendors at the market rapidly alerted the police, inflicting the gang members to flee as law enforcement officers arrived. As tensions escalated, a full-blown battle broke out between the rival teams. The assailants had been seen brandishing knives, and some reported that certainly one of them even pulled out a gun and fired it into the air several instances. Rocks have been hurled backwards and forwards between the two teams, and handmade bombs have been thrown as properly.
