A fraudulent employment agent lured practically 30 Thais with engaging job opportunities on Australian cattle farms, duping them out of tens of millions of baht. The victims got here forward yesterday, filing a grievance with Thai police towards the alleged con artist claiming excessive social status.
The complaint against Watsan (whose final title is withheld) was lodged yesterday by sixty one 12 months outdated Dathika, and almost 30 different people who fell prey to the scheme. They met with Pol. Lt. Col. Chattramontree Maha Phatchararun Mai, head of the investigating unit at Bangkok’s Crime Suppression Division (CSD), alleging that Watsan promised them a profitable employment opportunity in Australia.
According to Authentic , Watsan boasted in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic that he owned giant cattle and sheep farms in Australia and required a big variety of Thai staff for high-paying positions. However, he demanded an upfront payment of 55,000 baht per applicant. Dathika added that Watsan is well-known within the Thai group in Australia and falsely claimed to return from a prestigious household, making him seem trustworthy.
Hundreds of individuals believed his tale and paid the charges, amassing a value of tens of hundreds of thousands of baht. However, when Watsan disappeared without fulfilling his promises, citing numerous complications, it became evident that the victims have been deceived. This revelation prompted the group to file a grievance.
Investigators have since gathered evidence from the victims and forwarded the fraudulent employment case to their superiors for additional action, reports Khaosod..
