A leading Kenyan warehouse and logistics service provider Cold Solutions, says it will make investments USD 70 million to construct the largest chilly chain facility in East Africa to handle challenges that face transportation of perishable items.
Cold Solution’s 15,000 sqm flagship facility in Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Nairobi would be the largest, most superior and efficient in the area. Cover-up is flexibly designed to cater for quite a few temperature ranges from +26 to -40 C and multiple product ranges, from recent fruit and vegetables, to prescription drugs and vaccines, meats and poultry, and frozen meals.
Cold Solutions Kenya is a portfolio company of ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, a private equity fund advised by ARCH Emerging Markets Partners Limited (ARCH).
“Cold Solutions’ one-stop-shops are designed to permit companies to keep observe of merchandise in real-time and facilitate transportation throughout East Africa through temperature-controlled vans, both inside the inside city or to long-haul destinations,” stated Jared Irving, Managing Director, ARCH.
