Spoiler offers an early warning alert to the potential of dry operating circumstances, cavitation and other pump issues that may result in emergency shutdowns and costly maintenance.

FCI’s FLT93 Series flow switch reliably screens the circulate and temperature of liquids, gases, and slurries. It is designed for pump wet/dry detection, where sudden, unexpected reductions in media move charges can leave pumps susceptible to over-heating circumstances that shutdown process traces and require troubleshooting and fixing. The SIL2 rated instrument is meant for heavy-duty, probably hazardous course of trade environments and comes with a comprehensive list of world security approvals.
It has a no moving parts design and presents a strong scheme for pump protection with its twin alarm capability. With Alarm 1, the change detects a low flow situation wherever between zero.01 and 3 ft per second FPS (0.003–0.9 m per second MPS). This low flow alarm is a pre-warning sign for the management system or operator who can then resolve to keep the pump operating or to close it down.
If an Alarm 2 happens because the feed line to the pump is running dry, this would be an emergency signal to shut down the pump instantly because the bearings now see gasoline as an alternative of a liquid as a heat transfer media. In such conditions, the temperature of the bearings might rise very fast. Using a circulate switch prevents everlasting harm to the pump’s bearings.
