Thousands of tourists are actually stranded as the worldwide airport closes following extra eruptions from Mount Agung. People on the island report a thick plume of ash and smoke 1000’s of metres into the sky.
No obligation closed earlier this morning and has forced the cancellation of as much as 280 flights. Officials say the cancellations are affecting up to sixteen,000 passengers so far. A pilot reported traces of volcanic ash at a height of 23,000 ft, according to an AFP report.
The present journey chaos follows a similar disruption back in November when the airport was again closed with hundreds of stranded tourists and cancelled flights disrupted journey plans and the Indonesian island’s tourism economic system.
Mount Agung is about seventy five kilometres from the primary vacationer hub on the island, Kuta Beach. At the second there is a 4 kilometre no-go-zone across the volcanic mountain..
